Big Shot Monday!

I can't believe it's Christmas week already!  Are you ready??  Not me!!  I think every year I get finished a little later and a little later.  This year wins the award for my latest ever!!

Today I wanted to share with you some of the little things I've been working on lately...

Do you remember a few years back when covering little fruit cans was all the rage??  To be honest, I had forgotten all about them, until I ran across an unfinished can in my classroom cabinet.  Boy, did the light bulbs start going off!!

The first thing I did was call my sons & tell them to start thinking of some fun little gift for their girlfriends that would fit in these little cans.  Andy is soooo bad - he said he was putting M&M's in one because his girlfriend loves them so much & she'll go crazy trying to figure out how to get them out!!  Adam is much more serious, he wanted the dimensions & time to consider what would be best.  They are like night & day - always have been!!

Anyway, back to the project!  Deciding on the DSP was easy - I just looked in my bins & said "what do I need to use up first!!!"  LOL!

I have tons of Holiday Lounge because I LOVE the Taken With Teal and Sahara combination -- but there's another combo in this pack!

If you take a peek in the catty, you'll see that the other combo is Ruby Red & Sahara Sand.  Beautiful!!

So I had lots of fun coming up with the different sides & layers - all while using the same 2 colors.  Some had these adorable snowmen from "Big on Christmas", while some had the birds like shown above - which are from the Sizzix die "Birds & Blooms".

One thing I have to point out is the ribbon on this last sample - it's actually Riding Hood Red Satin.  It was one of my faves from the last catty & I stocked up on it.  I'm so thrilled that it matches this DSP so well!

I hope you enjoyed this blast from the past!  I must run now - we're down to only 4 days left before THE BIG DAY!!  I still have some last minute things to do, and not enough hours in the day.  I hope you're a lot more ready than I am!!

Big Shot Monday!

Um....HELLO!!!  I'm saying that to myself because I was having sooo much fun doing housework this morning (hello??) that I forgot to post the project for today!!  How does that happen??

This cutie-patoodie project comes from MS. SARAH .  She has put her Petal Card die to good use, I'd say!  Isn't this cute??  She's included a Level 1 stamp from "Holiday Best" for the perfect finish.  In fact, I've already told her that I plan on CASE-ing it for tonight!!

Which brings me 'round to telling you why I was having so much fun cleaning my house....it's because girlfriends are coming over!!  Some of my friends in the Theatre Guild decided that since we'd put so much work into decorating our homes for Christmas - we're going to show them off!  So tonight we're starting the "1st Annual Theatre Guild Christmas Tree Display"...or something or another.  We haven't officially named it - but there you go!!

I'll try my best to remember my camera tonight & show you some pics tomorrow!!

How many days 'till Christmas??

Oh my, isn't this amazing?!!

This stunning creation is a gift from one of my friends & downline members, Trina.  She surprised me with it last week while I was in Florida.  Isn't she talented?!!  You can imagine how thrilled I was to receive it!

Trina has used several Sizzix dies to create this project, beginning with the Christmas tree die that is in the current SU! mini catalog.

I didn't ask her about the blocks or the base, so I am assuming she had her own template for them (but I'll be sure to ask her!)

I can see that she's used the numbers & letters dies that are in the current (big) SU! catalog.

The pictures truly don't do it justice!!!  But I hope you get a good idea of just how beautiful this tree is, and what you can do with a little imagination.

Thank you, Trina!!  What a wonderful way to end my trip!  I enjoyed seeing Sarah, Blanche, Ginger & Pam, too!  It's always fun to travel & visit with friends that I've made across the miles - all because of a rubber stamp!

Big Shot Monday!!

Before I tell you about today's Lattice die project - I MUST remind you....

And speaking of sales - did YOU take advantage of any of the great Black Friday sales??  I did!!  Mostly I just enjoyed watching everyone else - but I did manage to pick up a few little things here & there!

This is the 5th & final week that Sarah & I are featuring the Lattice die.  We've really had a variety of projects with it this month - and only one card!!

I used it to make my own version of a French Bulletin Board!  You can see the corner up close in the first pic, and then this is a picture of my cozy new little office.  I'm crazy about it!  It's nowhere near complete, but I'm slowly but surely getting it together.  The Bulletin Board fits just perfectly in that small space between window & wall....only probably 12" or so.

Big Shot Monday!!

I can't believe it's Monday already - and I really can't believe it's Thanksgiving week!  Are you ready for all this??  Me, neither!!

In the meantime, look at this card - isn't' it beautiful?!!  Sarah has done a beautiful job not only with the layout, but I think the colors are gorgeous, too.  Thanks, Sarah!!
