I am borderline genius.
Bwahahaha!! I used to work with a guy that said that to me all.the.time. - and he was SERIOUS!! Yeah, well, his name was Charlie Brown. Seriously. Go figure!! (no, Gloria, not the Charlie Brown that you know! There's actually another one!!)
I took my own advice from my last post, and started using my favorite Notecards & Envelopes (new Stampin' Up! catalog, p. 182 Item #107311, $5.95/20) to start my very own stack of stocking stuffers....In AUGUST!! Now THAT is impressive!! These notecards really are the way to go, even the price is attractive!
For this project, I actually trimmed 1/4" off the height & width, and layered the notecards onto a 5" X 3.5" piece of POOL PARTY cardstock. I just wanted that tiny bit of color around the edges since my focal colors are pretty pastel.
Other colors used are Basic Grey for the sled & penguin, and Poppy Parade for the greeting. The nose is Tangerine Tango marker. Cheeks are Pink Pirouette marker. I also outlined the penguin with Pool Party marker, and colored in his scarf & hat.
Only one stamp set was used for this notecard - you can find it on p. 41 in the new catty - it's called "Merry Winter". It was my 2nd must-have new set!! Now you see why :) I used (SU!) Serene Snowflakes for the flaps of the envys (but you could use anything at all to accent this adorable set!).
The gift set is completed by tying a 21" piece of Ruffled Pool Party Ribbon around the cards & envys .....fun!!!
This was a fun & easy project - and I am sooo happy to have several sets of notecard stocking stuffers already on hand! Why don't you join me & make a stack, too?! Trust me, you'll be really glad you did by December 24th!!
Oh....confession time....I did not use glitter!! You have no idea how hard it was for me to not pull out the glitter bowl and go crazy on this cute little guy!! I thought they might be more appreciated if they didn't get glitter all over my friends LOL!!
Happy Monday! Thanks for visiting!
(I couldn't resist using this signature tag in the middle of August!!!)
