Stamping with Kim

Birthday Treats!

Today is Misty's birthday - and I can't find a thing!!  It would be funny if it wasn't true!  :)

We are in full swing of moving, and my craft supplies are spread - literally - over about 500 miles.  I'm actually quite impressed that she will have a MATCHING box & card!

Moving?!!  YES!!  I'm sure several of you are saying "what?  she never said anything!"  Well, here's the story....

We actually purchased a home a couple of years ago, with the intention of moving "back home" to Tennessee.  The market wasn't great at that time, so we decided to wait until the following Spring.  But then...."life happened".  When I was diagnosed with breast cancer at Christmas 2009, we put ALL plans on hold, and spent the entire year 2010 battling that disease.

This year....well, things are different!  I am officially cancer free, and we have our plans back on track to move.  So we put our house on the market last Friday - March 25th.

And our house SOLD on Friday - March 25th!!!  Can you stand it?!!   The first showing brought us an offer!  We were taken totally by surprise!  And... the new owners want possession in 5 weeks!  So that gives us about 4 1/2 weeks to move ALL of our possessions.  We definitely have our work cut out for us!

So while I will promise to do my BEST to provide you with updates AND some stamping ideas....I can't promise to post every day!  I will also try to sneak in some peeks at my new diggs, too!  :)

So this is the little gift set I managed to put together for my son's sweet girlfriend.  I think they turned out pretty well!  It's all a mix of Stampin' Up! papers & accessories, with a couple of Paper Trey stamps.  These are truly about all I could find that coordinated!!

Now, I have to run.  We've been invited to her birthday dinner....and I don't have a thing to wear.  Literally, I can't find my clothes LOL!!!

No food snob here!

Are you a picky eater?  Seriously....when you have a choice of places to eat when you are out, do you stick to the "sit down and serve me from a menu" type of restaurant.  Or do you just wing it, like me?

I don't think I've ever been a food snob.  In fact, when I was younger (much younger!) having to stop what I was doing just to eat was so annoying to me.  I absolutely hated it!  I would go & go & go until there was nothing left to go on.  Then, reluctantly, I would go eat.  I've grown up since then - a lot!!

Hubby never likes to give me final say on where we eat.  If he does, I know he's in a really REALLY generous mood, because these are some of the places that I will want to eat at.  Why?  They're fast.  They're filling.  And it's food.  Whatever!!

The kids make fun of me when I say "I had Krystals for lunch today"!  They usually say "WHY???"

I guess I'm not a good example for your kids - so don't send them to my place & ask me to feed them!  LOL!

Now that you know I am definitely NOT a food snob.  I will tell you what I am snobbish about.....

TATTOOS!!!  Bet you didn't see that one coming, did you?!!  Well, while surfing for the food logos I ran across this last picture.  And I can tell you, I will not eat with the person that has this tattoo!!!

Can you blame me?!!!

Wow!  It's been a while since I've actually gotten an award!  LOL!!  This is quite exciting!!!

8 Facts About Me

1.  I was born & raised in Hixson, TN - a suburb of Chattanooga.

2.  Sewing is the very first craft that I ever loved, and I made all of my Barbie's clothes.  (If I ever owned a craft store, it would be a quilt store!)

3.  I learned to sew on my grandmother's treadle sewing machine.  I now own that sewing machine.

4.  I was a majorette in high school.

5.  I have never been drunk!  (no one ever believes that one....especially my kids!!  But it's true!!)

6.  My great-grandmother was a red-headed, full-blooded, Cherokee Indian.

7.  My favorite job (ever) was the 10 years I spent as an Insurance Underwriter for Provident Life Insurance (now UNUM).  Ironically, my youngest son is now doing the same thing, and he loves it, too!

8.  My all-time-favorite car is a '69 Camaro.  That's the first car I ever owned.  It was given to me by my dad for graduation (no, I didn't graduate in 1969!!).

Now, the difficult part of the award - passing it on!!  There are soooo many craft sites out there that I love to visit, that makes it hard to narrow it down to only 8.  I've decided to NOT LIMIT THEM TO STAMPING SITES!!  My guess is that most of you also have tons of stamping sites that you love to visit - so I am going to share the first half of my 8 by listing stamping sites.  The last 4 are other random sites - crafting sites - that I adore.  I hope you visit them all & enjoy them as much as I do!!

Treasure Found!

Last week while cleaning off my desk I ran across a couple of scallop circles that I had messed up while cutting - I let the paper slip & didn't get the whole image.  As I was about to toss them in the can, I caught a glimpse of "Season of Friendship" stamp set on my desk & it just occured to me that this scallop circle looked like a tree.  All it needed was the trunk & some blooms.  So....TaDa!!

I love how this turned out!!  Now, this is an over-sized card (6X6).  I don't usually make larger cards just because of postage.  But, hey, a girls' gotta live sometime, right?!!  hee hee!!

So I hope you enjoy my little "lost treasure found" today.  Sometimes I surprise myself LOL!!!

Jessika's Getting Married!!

 But first there will be a wedding shower!

This is the invitation that mom Chris made for the shower.  Isn't it gorgeous?!!  I love the color combo!  What you can't see here in the pic is that the wing is punched out of textured paper.  It looks really, really nice that way!  Love the pearl eye, too!  The silver ribbon is the perfect accent to bring it all together.  Beautiful!!

I love this time of year!!  There always seem to be baby showers, weddings & wedding showers and graduations to go to.  So much fun in the springtime!!
