Big Shot Monday!!

I can't believe it's the end of the month already - it has certainly flown by!!

While I was busy goofing off last week down in TN and GA, with my mom being sick and then getting everything taken care of at our place down there - Sarah was working away on all these cute projects.  Is she the best, or what???!!!

Not only did she make all of THESE goodies, but she made an adorable box to pack them all in!  Check this out...

Sneak Peek-a-BOO!!

I know from talking to many of you that you're also crazy-busy just like I have been this summer ....but let me go ahead & tell you this up front....

HALLOWEEN IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!

Spooky, isn't it??  Well, that is why I chose to focus on Halloween for my swap card at my last downline meeting.  Well, THAT and also because I was dying to play with these brand new Sweet Treat Cups from SU!!  Aren't they just the....well, the CAT'S MEOW!!!  groan, I know!

But seriously, the new DSP's for Halloween are very, very nice this year - love that purple!!  And...this card also features a couple more new items in the Holiday Mini Catalog - first of all - the stamp set.  It's called "Sweet Centers", and it is designed to be used with these new Sweet Treat cups.  Also, SU! has a new circle punch (1 3/4") designed also to use with the new stamp set AND the new cups.  It's so perfect.  And I just love perfect!!

But along with the good news comes the bad...the Mini Catalogs may be a little late this time!  SU! made an announcement that they "should" arrive by Sept 1st - which just tells me that they are really saying this.....

"OK, folks, if you get your mini catalogs on time it's going to be a miracle - so you might as well plan on them being a couple of days late!!"

LOL!!  Wouldn't that just crack you up if they actually made an announcement like that?!!  Oh dear, can you tell I'm operating on waaay too little sleep, and obviously not enough caffeine/sugar???  I'll behave better after we get home, which BTW, will be a day later than we planned.  We ordered a new fridge for our place in TN and it won't be delivered until tomorrow, so we'll be home Sunday.  That's just the way it is!!

Hope you like my swap card.  It was so much fun to create, and the girls that came to my meeting were happy to get a card with the Sweet Treat Cup on it.  See what you missed by not being on my team?!  LOL!!  It's not too late to join us - the $85 mini kit special is good thru next Monday!!!

Special RAK's

I still love getting hand-stamped cards - don't you??  I guess that's why I'm still a stamper.  I know how much it means to me when I get one, and hope that when I send someone a card it's just as special to them, too.

This card was a real treat to get in the mail this month - it's from my upline, Pennie, and it means that I made it into her "top 10" for last month.  That was a real surprise!  LOL!!  Not that I didn't work hard - I DID!  But she has some really good girls in her group, with really big sales, and I am always pleasantly surprised when I score one of her cards!

This next card is from my friend, Kathy....and I have to tell you that the picture doesn't begin to do it justice!  The front is vellum, and that doesn't photograph very well.

She's used the eyelet border punch along the edge of the vellum & then sponged the edge to set it off.  It's so pretty & delicate in person!!

This next card is from my friend & downline, Emma, to congratulate me for making Founder's Circle...

I had to do a double-take to figure out that she has stamped the focal point with the new SU! Medallion background stamp & then just cut a strip of it.  What a great idea!!  Then to personalize it by simply stamping my monogram......brilliant!  Love it!!

I just wanted to share these with you because #1) they're beautiful!, and #2) to tell you that even if you're a demonstrator or stamp maker - we all still love to get hand-stamped cards in the mail!!

I'll be back home this weekend & getting some serious stamping done.  It's been an incredibly busy week - a trip to TN, my mom in the hospital, a trip to Atlanta, a trip back to TN, and then back home.....  Whew!  It'll be good to get back to normal!!  Thanks for being patient this week!!!  I will try to get back online tomorrow and post my swap card from my last downline meeting.  I think you're going to like it!!  But for now....I'm heading off to a long-time-coming BUBBLE BATH!!  See you tomorrow,

Sweet Pillow Box

Hello cyber-friends!

Thanks so much for visiting Sarah's site yesterday for the Big Shot Monday project.  It was so adorable, wasn't it?!!  I love her choice of colors!!

This little project is something that I was playing with last week - and my new "Nouveau Chic" DSP's.  I love those papers!

This is a pillow box made with my SU! Sizzix die, using Textured Black cs.  Super-simple!  Don't forget to use your Extended Crease pad when cutting dies with score lines!  I love having this ribbon of paper wrapping around it lengthwise.  What a nice twist it makes on the look! 

The focal point was made by using the Oval Scallop punch & Textured Black cs, then using the new Modern Label punch and Sage Shadow cs.  The greeting is from "Razzle Dazzle".  The box is completed with a flower (Trio Flowers punch) and a Rhinestone Brad in green.  The edges are sponged with black, and the scallop oval finished off with the White Gel Pen.  Super-Duper-easy!!

Thanks to all of you that wrote to ask about my mom.  She went home from hospital last night & seemsd in much better spirits today.  It appears that maybe her blood pressure was being lowered tooooo much - as in - it was bottoming out!!  So she's off that entirely now, and we'll see how she does over the next few days/weeks.  They ran several tests on her heart and nothing showed up there.  Lucky for that!!  So thanks, again, for asking & for keeping us in your prayers!!
