Stamping with Kim

They say it's my birthday!!

...and it is!!  

Birthdays are always fun - no matter what age!!  It's one day that you can make the whole day all about you - and nobody thinks that's a bad thing!  LOL!!

I always call my Aunt Martha on my birthday, and get the same remark - "girl, it's your birthday!  I was going to call you!!"  And I always tell her "I know it is, and I get to do what I want on my birthday - and I wanted to call you!!"  We both laugh and spend the next hour chatting about nothing in particular.  It means a lot to me, and I feel certain that it means alot to her, too!  (*wink*)

Then my mom will call and remind me that I was a ten-and-a-half-pound-baby, and she's never forgotten that!!  Who would!!  LOL!!  She also tells me that I was born at 6:00 am, and proceeded to get up every day of my life at that time.  I pretty much still do!  I guess some things never change.

Today is no exception for fun - it will be very special!!  My friend (and co-blogger) Sarah is flying up from Florida this morning.  She is coming to help me out this weekend, and planned her trip to arrive on my b'day.  Isn't she sweet?!!!

And - my hubby is coming home from Miami today, too!!  So I get to pick them both up at the airport!  Steve arranged his flight to arrive at almost the same time as Sarah's - so we'll all meet up this morning and then he's taking us both out to lunch.  I will NOT be on a diet for the next 4 days!  LOL!!

Continuing to make the whole day about me (hee hee!), the girls & I are going out tonight - no boys allowed!!  After all, how can we poke fun at them if they're sitting there listening?!!

Oh!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow - Sarah is GUEST HOSTING for me!!  I have no idea what she has planned, so you'll just have to check in & see  :-)

In the meantime - I hope all of you will go out & celebrate my birthday today!  How are you supposed to do that?!!  Have a great big piece of cake for me!!  Just tell your friends & family - "I'm celebrating Kim's birthday!!"  Since it isn't YOUR BIRTHDAY CAKE - it has no calories!!  LOL!!

Friends Forever

 Oh, how I love my Big Shot!!  Isn't this bag just too cute?!!

This little bag was so simple to make, and goes together like a breeze.  With just one pass through the Big Shot, the entire bag is cut & scored.  I added an extra layer behind the scallop flap by running a small scrap of cs back through the Big Shot, and layering it on the back.  Assembly only takes a minute!

This new "Raspberry Tart DSP" by SU! is perfect for this time of year, and Kiwi Kiss really makes it pop.  I've added one of SU!'s new painted eyelets, and a snip of ribbon to finish the bag.

The flap is bordered by stick-on pearls, and a "button" made with 2 circles, a flower & a brad.

What an adorable little gift bag this makes!!

The "No Panty Zone"

OK, you girls are cracking me up!!  My post from a couple of days ago - FEATURING MY NEW CRAFT ROOM PENNANT - is getting more remarks about being panties than pennant!!  LOL!!

Now that leaves me with a dilemma -- should I forward that post to my hubby while he is out of town & ask him what he thinks??!!  HMMMM?????

Big Shot Monday!

It's already Big Shot Monday again - where did the weekend go??

Sarah has come up with another darling project for us.   I just love this little bird and all the versatile projects we have made this month!!

We will be featuring a different Sizzix die in March....so remember, if you want the directions & templates for all of the "Birds & Blooms" projects we have featured this month, then be sure to order the die from Sarah or me by the end of the month.

All Work & No Play??

Not around here!  Well, I have been working, and I DID clean off this table in my craft room.  Does that count for the work part?!!

But I've also been playing!  See the pennant beneath the shelf??  That's what I was working on yesterday when I should have been cutting projects for my AHA Fundraiser (that is a week from today!!)

Here's a close-up of one of the pennants:

This pennant was really easy to make using my BIG SHOT.  I cut two of the small pennants for each letter, then cut away the perforated part of one and layered it on top of the other.  It gave me this nice border around the edge.....see...

Originally I was going to spell S-T-A-M-P, and I cut out those letters.  But then I changed my mind, and decided that I wanted to say C-R-E-A-T-E, because we do more than just stamping in my craft room.  So I used the A and the T, but that left the rest of the letters unused.

So I used them for this.....

Hahaha!  I think that I MUST find a place to put this up on the wall!!  (wink!)
