I've been having so much fun with the new SU! Valentine Bundle!!  And you know....if you order the bundle through me, you get a FREE CLASS!!   Woo Hoo YOU (as Trina would say!).

I've also been playing alot with my Big Shot - and you know how easy it is to make baggy toppers with the Top Note Die.  So check this out!!

These bags took all of about 1 minute to make!  The part that took the most time was cutting around the perforated edge on the top layer (the DSP). 

I love easy!!  Reminds me of something....OH YEAH...the easy button at Staples!!  LOL!!

I was playing around with this new stamp set that arrived while I was away & some different color combos last night - and with a technique called "Rock & Roll".  Have you tried this?  I actually didn't do it as it's supposed to be done...which is to ink up the image in one color, and then roll the edges of the stamp on an ink pad to deepen them with another color.

What I did with the main image was to ink it up as I normally would,  then I used Sponge Daubers to get a deeper color around the edges.  By doing it this way I was able to get some of the darker color into the center of the stamp, too.  I like it!  Of course, it had to be brightened up with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter!!

I struggled with the "dear friend" part.  After trying many different placements, this is the one that I liked best.  It looked good without it....but....Oh Well!!  :-)

Is Christmas really over?  Already??  It just doesn't seem possible!!  But it must be because HERE is my first class of 2009!!  ...and it's FREE*!!!

Merry Christmas to all!

My sincere apologies for not getting a Christmas wish posted first thing today!!  I hope after reading how we've spent the last 3 days that you will forgive me.

I mentioned earlier that we made a last minute trip out of town.  Steve's dad called Sunday to let us know that he would be "home", which is Chattanooga, Tennessee, for just a couple of days.  We don't get to see him often since we live close to 1,000 miles apart.  So we dropped everything to be able to spend a few short hours with him.

Here we are at breakfast yesterday morning, Christmas Eve Day.  Don't we look like we're scheming something?!!  Well, we were!!  Steve & I spent most of the day taking him back to some of his childhood places, visiting some of his childhood friends.  He had the best time!!

 Here's one quick pic of my father-in-law with his childhood friend named Burl.  You'll never believe what they were laughing & talking about.  Well, you probably would - they were arguing about who's girlfriend "Ruthie" was!!!   Seriously!!  These men are both in their 80's and they are still trying to charm the women!!  LOL!!

I'm afraid we'll never see this - "the greatest generation" - ever again.  They were survivors.  Steve and I learned so much on this trip, and we know more than ever how truly blessed we are to still have them in our lives.

This is Dad's license plate.  Yes, he was a prisoner of war.  He was drafted into WWII at age 17 & sent to Italy.  He was one of only 17 survivors in his company of 200.  Then he re-enlisted and went to Korea.  He was captured there where he was held and tortured for 3 years by the Koreans.  That didn't stop him, he also fought in the Vietnam War. 

Here's a bit of trivia that most people don't know - and will never experience.... Steve and his Dad fought TOGETHER in Vietnam.  That doesn't happen often.

So I hope you can see why we grasp every moment to spend with my father-in-law.  He is wonderful.  Truly wonderful.  I have had one of the best Christmases ever this year.  Spending time with all of the men I love most in this world - my husband, my father-in-law, and my 2 sons.
